This Privacy Policy explains how WalkUpPrint (operated by Asbestikum Industrial Communications (Pty) Ltd) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our service. We comply with the South African Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
When you use WalkUpPrint, we collect:
• The document file you upload, temporarily, in order to print it.
• Print job metadata: page count, colour/mono, copies, file name, time, and the printer used.
• Payment confirmation from Yoco (a transaction reference and amount). We do not see or store your card details — these are handled entirely by Yoco.
• An optional email address or phone number, if you choose to receive a receipt.
We use the information to: process your print job, process your payment, send you a receipt if requested, troubleshoot technical issues, and improve the service. We do not sell your information to third parties.
Uploaded document files are deleted automatically after printing completes (typically within minutes). Job metadata and payment records are retained for accounting, reconciliation, and legal compliance purposes for the period required by South African law (typically 5 years).
We share information only with: Yoco (for payment processing), partner locations (the print job is sent to the partner's local printer agent), and authorities where required by law. We may use third-party email and SMS providers to deliver receipts.
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information held by WalkUpPrint. To exercise these rights, email chris@asbestikum.com with your request and the job reference (if applicable).
We use industry-standard security practices: TLS-encrypted connections, encrypted secret storage, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.
